12. Pursuant to regulation 1 (3) (b) of the Regulations, exploration means the search for deposits of polymetallic nodules in the Area, their analysis, the testing of collecting systems and equipment, processing facilities and transportation systems, and the carrying out of studies of the environmental, technical, economic, commercial and other appropriate factors that must be taken into account in exploitation.
12 - وعملا بالمادة 1 (3) (ب) من النظام، يعني الاستكشاف البحث عن رواسب العقيدات المتعددة الفلزات في المنطقة، وتحليل هذه الرواسب، واختبار نظم الاستخلاص ومعداته، ومرافق المعالجة ونظم النقل، وإجراء دراسات للعوامل البيئية والتقنية والاقتصادية والتجارية وغيرها من العوامل المناسبة التي يجب مراعاتها في الاستغلال.
