١٣١ - وقد ركزت الجمعية العامة كثيرا في القرار ٤٧/١٩٩ على زيادة استخدام الخبرة الوطنية والتكنولوجيات المحلية المتاحة في البلدان النامية.

22. Urges the United Nations system to use to the fullest extent possible and practicable available national expertise and indigenous technologies, and to report to the Council at its substantive session of 2000 on the use of the recently agreed guidelines of the Consultative Committee on Programme and Operational Questions on national execution, with a view to resolving the issues identified in those guidelines;
٢٢ - يحث منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة على أن تستفيد بأقصى قدر ممكن وعملي من الخبرة الوطنية والتكنولوجيات المحلية المتاحة، وأن تقدم إلى المجلس في دورته الموضوعية لعام ٢٠٠٠ تقريرا عن استخدام المبادئ التوجيهية المتفق عليها أخيرا للجنة الاستشارية المعنية بالمسائل البرنامجية والتنفيذية عن التنفيذ الوطني بغية حل القضايا المحددة في هذه المبادئ التوجيهية؛

The desertification Convention is a new approach to cooperation and partnership between North and South, between the industrialized and the developing countries, with a view to better mobilizing resources to combat desertification, either in the elaboration and implementation of programmes or in research and information technologies that stress traditional know-how and local technologies.
إن اتفاقية التصحر هي نهج جديد للتعاون والشراكة بين الشمال والجنوب، بين البلدان الصناعية والبلدان النامية، بغرض تعبئة الموارد على نحو أفضل من أجل مكافحة التصحر، إما بوضع وتنفيذ برامج أو بتكنولوجيات البحث والمعلومات التي تؤكد على المعارف التقليدية والتكنولوجيات المحلية.
