The Committee recalls the obligation of the State party systematically and continuously to implement all the provisions of the Convention, and requests the State party to give priority attention to the concerns and recommendations identified in the present concluding observations between now and the submission of its next periodic report.

At its third session, the Working Group agreed on the set of conclusions and recommendations set out below, and in accordance with its mandate proposes them to the Commission on Human Rights:

7. The Convention's emphasis on the importance of equality of opportunity and of participation in public life and decision-making has led the Committee to review article 7 and to suggest to States parties that, in reviewing their laws and policies and in reporting under the Convention, they should take into account the comments and recommendations set out below.

29. The Committee wishes to emphasize that the suggestions and recommendations set out in the preceding paragraphs depend for their success upon the State party’s renewed commitment to fulfilling its reporting and other international legal obligations under the Covenant.
