It was emphasized that resources are needed for personnel, equipment and maintenance of facilities, and that, in order to improve the use of data and observations, people should be retrained to acquire new skills in statistics and in computational technologies.

22- نُفِّذت أنشطة في مجال البيانات والرصدات بهدف تحسين جمع بيانات الرصد والمعلومات الأخرى المتصلة بتقلب وتغير المناخ الحالي والمناخ التاريخي، وتحسين إدارة هذه البيانات والمعلومات وتبادلها والوصول إليها واستخدامها.

The secretariat, in collaboration with the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the Ministry of Environment of Mexico, organized the expert meeting on methods and tools and on data and observations in Mexico City, Mexico, from 4 to 7 March 2008.
9- نظمت الأمانة، بالتعاون مع المنظمة العالمية للأرصاد الجوية ووزارة البيئة المكسيكية، اجتماع الخبراء المتعلق بالأساليب والأدوات والبيانات والرصدات في مدينة مكسيكو بالمكسيك في الفترة من 4 إلى 7 آذار/مارس 2008.

Raise awareness among policymakers of the need to strengthen data and observations not only for global purposes, but also to assist them in their own development and adaptation objectives.

80- يمكن للأطراف والمنظمات ذات الصلة وغيرها من أصحاب المصلحة المشاركين في إطار برنامج عمل نيروبي الاضطلاع بالأنشطة التي أوصى بها المشاركون من أجل سد الثغرات وتلبية الاحتياجات وتخطي الحواجز وفك القيود التي حُددت والإفادة من الفرص التي تتيحها الأساليب والأدوات والبيانات والرصدات.

It was emphasized that GCOS has identified the systematic observations needed for climate monitoring, prediction and research, but there is still a need to identify data and observations necessary for impacts, vulnerability and adaptation work - that is, the ECV specific to impacts, vulnerability and adaptation.
64- وشُدد على أن النظام العالمي لرصد المناخ حدد الرصدات المنهجية لمراقبة المناخ والتنبؤ به وإجراء البحوث بشأنه، لكن الحاجة لا تزال تدعو إلى تحديد البيانات والرصدات اللازمة للعمل الخاص بالتأثيرات والقابلية للتأثر والتكيف، أي المتغيرات المناخية الأساسية المتصلة تحديداً بالتأثيرات والقابلية للتأثر والتكيف.
