I. BACKGROUND -- THE BUSINESS PLAN AND THE strategic guidelines
أولا- الخلفية: خطة الأعمال والمبادئ التوجيهية الاستراتيجية

While the precise content of the MTPF will be contingent upon the outcomes of the review process currently being undertaken by UNIDO as described above, its formulation will be based on the Business Plan and the strategic guidelines.

Ms. SOEHARSO (Indonesia) expressed hope that the ongoing review of technical cooperation would be completed on the basis of the Business Plan and the strategic guidelines adopted at the last session, with a view to better integration of programmes and the highlighting of areas where comparative advantages existed.

4. UNIDO will need to address these challenges on the basis of its mandate, taking into account the Business Plan on the Future Role and Functions of UNIDO, the strategic guidelines Towards Improved UNIDO Programme Delivery, and its corporate strategy, using its comparative advantage to ensure value addition within the framework of the United Nations development system.

This document supersedes all previous strategic plans, including the Business Plan on the Future Role and Functions of UNIDO, the strategic guidelines " towards improved UNIDO programme delivery " , and the strategic long-term vision statement.
