On 16 December 2009, the Chair-Rapporteur of the Working Group on Arbitrary Detention, the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights defenders and the Special Rapporteur on the independence of judges and lawyers sent a joint urgent appeal to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela regarding Judge María Lourdes Afiuni.

Takes note of the report of the Special Rapporteur on freedom of religion or belief and the Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance, pursuant to Human Rights Council decision 1/107 on incitement to racial and religious hatred and the promotion of tolerance;
9 - تحيط علما بتقرير المقررة الخاصة المعنية بحرية الدين أو المعتقد والمقرِّر الخاص المعني بالأشكال المعاصرة للعنصرية والتمييز العنصري وكراهية الأجانب وما يتصل بذلك من تعصب، المقدم وفقا لمقرر مجلس حقوق الإنسان 1/107، بشأن التحريض على الكراهية العنصرية والدينية، وتشجيع التسامح()؛

(b) To establish an effective coordination mechanism between authorities competent to receive and investigate child abuse cases, including the special units, pilot juvenile complaint desks and human rights desks of the Nigerian Police and the Special Rapporteur on Child Rights of the Nigerian Human Rights Commission;

Furthermore, the United Arab Emirates welcomed visits by United Nations Special Rapporteurs and had received visits by the Special Rapporteur on the Sale of Children, Child Prostitution and Child Pornography, and the Special Rapporteur on Racism and Racial Discrimination in 2009, and by the Special Rapporteur on Trafficking in Persons in 2012.
