والمقصد الثاني لهذه المؤسسة، كما هو منصوص عليه في ميثاق الأمم المتحدة، هو إنماء العلاقات الودية بين الأمم على أساس المبدأ الذي يقضي بالمساواة في الحقوق بين الشعوب وبأن يكون لكل منها حق تقرير مصيرها.

We also maintain the view that the embargo is a violation of the provisions of Article 1 of the Charter of the United Nations — in particular, the provisions of paragraph 2, which stipulates that the fundamental purpose of the United Nations is the development of friendly relations among nations, based on respect for the principles of equal rights and the self-determination of peoples.
كما أننا نرى أن الحصار انتهاك ﻷحكام المادة ١ من ميثاق اﻷمم المتحدة، وبصفة خاصة أحكام الفقرة ٢، التي تنص على أن الهدف اﻷساسي لﻷمم المتحدة هو إنماء العلاقات الودية بين اﻷمم على أساس احترام المبدأ الذي يفضي بالتسوية في الحقوق بين الشعوب وبأن يكون لكل منها الحق في تقرير مصيره.

Azerbaijan is demonstratively continuing to violate the United Nations Charter, particularly the principle of the non-use of force or the threat of the use of force, as well as the principles of equality of rights and the self-determination of peoples.

The United Nations Charter asserts that the purpose of our Organization is, as stated in Article 1, paragraph 2, " To develop friendly relations among nations based on respect for the principle of equal rights and self-determination of peoples, and to take other appropriate measures to strengthen universal peace " .
إن ميثاق الأمم المتحدة يؤكد أن القصد من منظمتنا هو كما جاء في الفقرة 2 من المادة الأولى " إنماء العلاقات الودية بين الأمم على أساس احترام المبدأ الذي يقضي بالتسوية في الحقوق بين الشعوب، وبأن يكون لكل منها تقرير مصيرها.

Consequently, one of the purposes of the United Nations was " to develop friendly relations among nations based on respect for the principle of equal rights and self-determination of peoples " .
ولذلك، فإن أحد مقاصد الأمم المتحدة هو " إنماء العلاقات الودية بين الأمم على أساس احترام المبدأ الذي يقضي بالتسوية في الحقوق بين الشعوب وبأن يكون لكل منها تقرير مصيرها " .

The Charter's second paragraph, second only to the articulation of the most urgent purpose of the United Nations to maintain international peace and security, notes the purpose of the UN is to develop friendly relations among nations based on respect for the principle of equal rights and self determination of peoples, and to take other appropriate measures to strengthen universal peace.
فالفقرة الثانية من الميثاق، التي لا يسبقها سوى بيان أكثر مقاصد الأمم المتحدة إلحاحا، وهو حفظ السلام والأمن الدوليين، تنوه إلى مقصد الأمم المتحدة المتمثل في إنماء العلاقات الودية بين الأمم على أساس احترام المبدأ الذي يقضي بالتسوية في الحقوق بين الشعوب وبأن يكون لكل منها تقرير مصيرها، وكذلك اتخاذ التدابير الأخرى الملائمة لتعزيز السلام العام.

Paragraph 2 provides that another is " to develop friendly relations among nations based on respect for the principle of equal rights and self-determination of peoples, and to take other appropriate measures to strengthen universal peace " .
فيما تنص المادة ٢ على " إنماء العلاقات الودية بين اﻷمم على أساس احترام المبدأ الذي يقضي بالتسوية في الحقوق بين الشعوب وبأن يكون لكل منها تقرير مصيرها، وكذلك اتخاذ التدابير اﻷخرى الملائمة لتعزيز السلم العام " .

As my delegation made clear in its statement on this agenda item last year, the embargo is a violation of the provisions of Article 1 of the United Nations Charter, paragraph 2 of which stipulates that the fundamental purpose of the United Nations is the development of friendly relations among nations based on respect for the principles of equal rights and self-determination of peoples.
