Since 1993, Member States have adopted by consensus more than 16 consecutive resolutions containing specific agreed measures aimed at improving and enhancing the work of the General Assembly as the chief deliberative, policymaking and representative principal organ of the United Nations and at strengthening its role in the process of standard-setting and the codification of international law.
