52. Article 12 of the Trafficking in Persons Protocol requires the adoption of measures to ensure the quality, integrity and security of travel or identity documents.
52- تقضي المادة 12 من بروتوكول الاتجار بالأشخاص اتخاذ تدابير لضمان جودة وثائق السفر أو الهوية وسلامتها وأمنها.

(c) To ensure the security and control of travel or identity documents;

2. Each State Party shall adopt such measures as may be necessary to ensure the integrity and to control the lawful creation, issuance, verification, use and acceptance of travel or identity documents issued by or on behalf of the State Party.
٢ - على كل دولة طرف أن تعتمد ما يلزم من تدابير لضمان سلامة وثائق السفر أو الهوية التي تصدرها أو تصدر نيابة عنها ، وأن تراقب اعدادها واصدارها المشروعين والتحقق من صحتها وكيفية استعمالها وقبولها .

يتعين على الدولة الطرف، بناء على طلب دولة طرف أخرى، أن تتحقق، وفقا لقانونها الداخلي، وفي غضون فترة زمنية معقولة، من شرعية وصلاحية وثائق السفر أو الهوية التي أُصدرت أو يُزعم أنها أصدرت باسمها ويُشتبه بأنها تُستعمل في الاتجار بالأشخاص.

Japan reported that to ensure the security and control of travel or identity documents, the Passport Law had been amended in 2005 to prevent the production of a forged passport and the illegal use of a passport by incorporating an IC chip into passports.

B. Tools to assist States parties seeking to strengthen the integrity and security of travel and identity documents and promote cooperation among States parties with the goal of stemming the misuse of travel or identity documents
باء- الأدوات المساعدة للدول الأطراف في مساعيها من أجل تعزيز سلامة وأمن وثائق السفر والهوية وتشجيع التعاون بين الدول الأطراف بغية وضع حد لإساءة استعمال وثائق السفر أو الهوية

Also in that resolution, the Conference reinforced the importance of States parties, pursuant to articles 12 and 13 of the Smuggling of Migrants Protocol, ensuring the integrity and security of travel or identity documents and verifying, within a reasonable time, the legitimacy and validity of such documents suspected of being used to smuggle migrants.
وأكَّد المؤتمر، في ذلك القرار أيضاً، أهمية قيام الدول الأطراف، طبقا للمادتين 12 و13 من بروتوكول تهريب المهاجرين، بضمان سلامة وأمن وثائق السفر أو الهوية والتحقُّق، في غضون فترة زمنية معقولة، من شرعية وصلاحية الوثائق التي يشتبه في استخدامها لأغراض تهريب المهاجرين.
