Each State Party shall take appropriate measures within its means to promote the active participation of individuals and groups outside the public sector, such as civil society, non-governmental organizations and community-based organizations, in the prevention of and the fight against corruption and to raise public awareness regarding the existence, causes and gravity of and the threat posed by corruption.
1- تتخذ كل دولة طرف تدابير مناسبة ضمن حدود امكاناتها لتشجيع أفراد وجماعات لا ينتمون إلى القطاع العام، مثل المجتمع المدني والمنظمات غير الحكومية والمنظمات الأهلية، على المشاركة بنشاط في منع الفساد ومحاربته، ولاذكاء وعي الناس فيما يتعلق بوجود الفساد وأسبابه وجسامته وما يمثله من خطر.

26. These findings were of particular relevance, since the Working Group, in its recommendations to the Conference emphasized the need for States parties that have not yet done so to review and strengthen their criminal legislation and to introduce the criminal offences envisaged in the Firearms Protocol, including appropriate sanctions that are commensurate with the nature and gravity of the offence.
