In the Pacific island country Parties, the early warning systems for drought forecasting, and agroforestry and water harvesting for rehabilitating degraded land and promoting sustainable land management are identified as possible themes for subregional collaborations.

Major drivers for policies and programmes were identified as developing and strengthening institutional capacity, community empowerment, affordability and accessibility of urban and rural populations to safe and regulated water supplies and sanitation, and sustaining farmer's income while using less groundwater and water harvesting.

Assessments conducted by UNIDO and FAO have resulted in a project document " Sustainable food security through community-based livelihood development and water harvesting " , A total of Can$15 million has been requested from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) to implement both FAO (Can$12 million) and UNIDO (Can$3 million) project components.
24- تمخضت عمليات التقييم التي اضطلعت بها اليونيدو والفاو عن وثيقة مشروع " الأمن الغذائي المستدام من خلال تنمية أسباب العيش المستندة إلى المجتمع المحلي وجمع المياه " . وقد طُلب مبلغ 15 مليون دولار كندي إجمالا من الوكالة الكندية للتنمية الدولية لتنفيذ مكوّني المشروع الخاصين بالفاو (12 مليون دولار كندي) واليونيدو (3 ملايين دولار كندي).
