Mexico stated that its Law on the Protection of Human Rights Defenders and Journalists of 2012 created mechanisms to increase cooperation between federal and state agencies and civil society to implement measures to protect human rights defenders and journalists.
وذكرت المكسيك أن قانون حماية المدافعين عن حقوق الإنسان والصحفيين الصادر عام 2012 قد أنشئت بموجبه آليات لزيادة التعاون فيما بين الوكالات على مستوى الاتحاد والولايات والمجتمع المدني لتنفيذ تدابير لحماية المدافعين عن حقوق الإنسان والصحفيين.

16. Mexico stated that the ultimate objective of a convention was twofold: to achieve universal awareness of the needs of persons with disabilities; and to achieve the full development of persons with disabilities and their inclusion in all spheres of life, with conditions and opportunities equal to those of other people.

Mexico noted that there would be a transition period until all States parties had ratified the amendment to the Covenant, and it would be necessary to ensure that this did not negatively affect the continuity of the functions and work of the CESCR.
