That is the issue of the Agency’s outstanding claims for the repayment of value-added tax and other charges, such as customs clearance and port fees, which have been remitted by UNRWA to the Palestinian Authority in the course of maintaining the Agency’s regular programmes and special projects in the Gaza Strip and West Bank. As at August 1998, the value of these claims had reached some $19 million.
١٨ - ووجه انتباه الفريق العامل لعامل تعقيدي آخر هو مسألة المطالبات غير المسددة للوكالة لدفع ضريبة القيمة المضافة وغيرها من الرسوم كالتخليص الجمركي ورسوم الموانئ التي حولتها اﻷونروا إلى السلطة الفلسطينية في سياق اﻹبقاء على البرامج العادية للوكالة ومشاريعها الخاصة في قطاع غزة والضفة الغربية، وحتى آب/أغسطس ١٩٩٨، وصلت قيمة هذه المطالبات إلى حوالي ١٩ مليون دولار.
