117. In resolution 1918 (2010), the Security Council requested the SecretaryGeneral to prepare a report on possible options to further the aim of prosecuting and imprisoning those responsible for acts of piracy and armed robbery at sea off the coast of Somalia.
117 - وفي القرار 1918 (2010) ، طلب مجلس الأمن إلى الأمين العام أن يعد تقريرا عن الخيارات الممكنة للمساعدة في بلوغ هدف محاكمة وسجن الأشخاص المسؤولين عن ارتكاب أعمال قرصنة وسطو مسلح في البحر قبالة ساحل الصومال().

On 27 April 2010, by resolution 1918 (2010), the Council requested the Secretary-General to present to it a report on possible options for prosecuting and imprisoning persons responsible for acts of piracy and armed robbery at sea off the coast of Somalia.
وفي 27 نيسان/أبريل 2010، طلب المجلس إلى الأمين العام، في قراره 1918 (2010)، أن يقدم تقريرا عن الخيارات الممكنة لمحاكمة وسجن الأشخاص المسؤولين عن ارتكاب أعمال قرصنة وسطو مسلح في البحر قبالة سواحل الصومال.

1. This report is submitted as part of the process initiated by the Security Council on 27 April 2010 under its resolution 1918 (2010) with a view to " furthering the aim of prosecuting and imprisoning persons responsible for acts of piracy and armed robbery at sea off the coast of Somalia " .
1 - يندرج هذا التقرير في العملية التي بدأها مجلس الأمن في 27 نيسان/أبريل 2010، بموجب قراره 1918 (2010)، بغية " المساعدة في بلوغ هدف محاكمة وسجن الأشخاص المسؤولين عن ارتكاب أعمال قرصنة وسطو مسلح في البحر قبالة سواحل الصومال " .

" The Security Council strongly believes that persons responsible for acts of piracy and armed robbery at sea off the coast of Somalia, including those who incite or intentionally facilitate such acts, should be brought to justice, and considers in this regard that the effective prosecution of suspected pirates and their supporters may deter future pirate attacks.
" ويؤمن مجلس الأمن بشدة بأنه ينبغي محاكمة الأشخاص المسؤولين عن ارتكاب أعمال قرصنة وسطو مسلح في البحر قبالة السواحل الصومالية، بمن فيهم من يحرض على ارتكابها أو ييسر عمدا ارتكابها، وهو يعتبر في هذا الصدد أن محاكمة القراصنة المشتبه فيهم ومؤيديهم بطريقة ناجعة يمكن أن تشكل رادعاً يحول دون ارتكاب اعتداءات في المستقبل.

The Council issued a presidential statement (S/PRST/2010/16) in which it requested me to include in the present report any new information and observations, taking into account the work of the Contact Group, on possible ways to advance the ongoing cooperation, including with States in the region, in prosecuting and imprisoning persons responsible for acts of piracy and armed robbery at sea off the coast of Somalia.
وأصدر مجلس الأمن بيانا رئاسيا (S/PRST/2010/16)، طلب إليَّ فيه أن أدرج في هذا التقرير أي معلومات وملاحظات جديدة بشأن الوسائل التي يمكن اتخاذها، مع مراعاة العمل الذي يضطلع به فريق الاتصال، لتحسين التعاون الجاري، بما في ذلك مع دول المنطقة، لمحاكمة وسجن الأشخاص المسؤولين عن ارتكاب أعمال قرصنة وسطو مسلح في البحر قبالة سواحل الصومال.
