Owing to the various needs and country situations of States parties, a single, unified model of a standing national reporting and coordination mechanism would not be feasible or practical.

The proposal is that States parties be encouraged to establish or reinforce a standing national reporting and coordination mechanism, aimed at facilitating both timely reporting and improved coordination in follow-up to treaty bodies' recommendations and decisions.
