3.1 The author claims a violation of articles 6 and 7 of the Covenant because, as a wellknown Christian, he is at risk of kidnapping, detention, beatings, torture and execution, by the Sunni extremist groups if returned to Pakistan.

10. The Human Rights Committee, acting under article 5, paragraph 4, of the Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, is of the view that the facts before it disclose a violation of articles 19 and 21 of the Covenant.

The Committee also noted that the complainant's self-incriminating statement was lent substantial weight in the proceedings against him, but considered that the complainant had not provided information that would allow it to conclude that his self-incriminating statement was in all probability a result of torture and accordingly concluded that the information before it did not reveal a violation of articles 14 and 15 of the Convention.
ولاحظت اللجنة أيضاً أن أقوال صاحب الشكوى التي أقر فيها بجرمه مُنحت لها أهمية كبيرة في الإجراءات التي خضع لها، ولكنها اعتبرت أن صاحب الشكوى لم يقدم معلومات تسمح لها بالاستنتاج أن أقوال الإقرار بالجرم كانت في جميع الاحتمالات نتيجة للتعرض للتعذيب، ومن ثم خلصت إلى أن المعلومات المعروضة عليها لا تكشف وقوع انتهاك للمادتين 14 و15 من الاتفاقية.

8. The Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, acting under article 14, paragraph 7, of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, is of the view that the facts before it do not disclose a violation of articles 4 (a) and 6 of the Convention.

In respect of case No. 412/1990, in which the Committee had found a violation of articles 19 and 21 of the Covenant, counsel observed that on 28 May 1996, the Finnish Supreme Court dismissed an appeal for an extraordinary remedy filed by Ms. Kivenmaa; the Court did not nullify an earlier court decision which had imposed a fine on Ms. Kivenmaa.

3.2 The author also claims a violation of articles 6 and 2 (para. 3) of the Covenant in respect of her brother, Atik, who was killed; of articles 2 (para. 3) and 7 in respect of her mother, Fatma, the author herself and her sister, Soumia; of articles 7 and 9 in respect of her brother, Bedrane; and of articles 7, 10 and 2 (para. 3) in respect of her other brother, Abderrahmane.

11.5 Acting under article 7, paragraph 3, of the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women is of the view that the facts before it reveal a violation of articles 10 (h), 12 and 16, paragraph 1 (e), of the Convention and makes the following recommendations to the State party:
