These activities vary from one agency to another and in-depth reviews will be necessary to assess fully the extent to which each agency’s activities adequately address the needs and requirements of developing countries and countries in transition.
٦٩- وتتفاوت هذه اﻷنشطة بحسب الوكالات وسيكون من الضروري القيام باستعراضات متعمقة ﻹجراء تقييم كامل للمدى الذي تعالج به أنشطة كل وكالة على النحو الواجب لاحتياجات ومتطلبات البلدان النامية والبلدان التي تمر اقتصاداتها بمرحلة انتقالية.

3. The Commission defined programme element I.5 as a need to propose measures for addressing the needs and requirements of developing countries and other countries with low forest cover in order to promote activities to conserve existing forest cover, with particular attention to unique forests.
٣ - وقد اعتبرت اللجنة العنصر البرنامجي أولا - ٥ ضروريا ﻟ " اقتراح التدابير اللازمة لمعالجة احتياجات ومتطلبات البلدان النامية وسائر البلدان القليلة الغطاء الحرجي، وذلك من أجل تشجيع اﻷنشطة الرامية الى المحافظة على الغطاء الحرجي الحالي مع الاهتمام بصفة خاصة بالغابات الفريدة من نوعها " .

67. As defined by the Commission on Sustainable Development, the aim of programme element I.5 is to " propose measures to address the needs and requirements of developing countries and other countries with low forest cover in order to promote the activities aimed at conserving the existing coverage, with particular attention to the unique types of forests " .8
٦٧ - إن هدف العنصر البرنامجي أولا - ٥، كما عرفته لجنة التنمية المستدامة، هو " اقتراح تدابير لمعالجة احتياجات ومتطلبات البلدان النامية وسائر البلدان ذات الغطاء الحرجي المحدود، وذلك من أجل تشجيع اﻷنشطة الرامية الى المحافظة على الغطاء الحرجي الحالي، مع الاهتمام بصفة خاصة بالغابات الفريدة من نوعها " )٨(.
