Furthermore, the increased use of web-based mechanisms for sharing knowledge and experience and for support to southern professional networks and centres of excellence underscore the acknowledgement by the United Nations system of its comparative advantage in knowledge management, particularly that aimed at institutional and human capacity development at the national level.

Special efforts will be made to provide a common platform that allows these partners to develop their rosters of Southern experts, to generate and disseminate Southern best practices and solutions in achieving the MDGs, and to expand networking with Southern knowledge institutions and centres of excellence.

5. Commends the developing countries that have allocated resources from their national budgets for technical cooperation among developing countries through bilateral and multilateral channels, and have made available their institutional facilities, expertise and centres of excellence for this purpose;
٥ - تثني على البلدان النامية التي خصصت من ميزانياتها الوطنية ومن خلال القنوات الثنائية ومتعددة اﻷطراف موارد للتعاون التقني فيما بين البلدان النامية، وأتاحت استخدام مرافقها المؤسسية، وخبراتها، ومراكز التفوق فيها لهذا الغرض؛

(b) Strengthening forest education and research and development through global, regional and subregional networks, as well as relevant organizations, institutions and centres of excellence in all regions of the world, particularly in developing countries, as well as countries with economies in transition;
