As previously noted, the International Covenants constituted the first all-embracing and legally binding international treaties in the field of human rights and formed, together with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Bill of Human Rights; they had gained wide acceptance by the international community.
4 - ومضت قائلة إن العهدين الدوليين الخاصين بحقوق الإنسان، كما ذُكر آنفا، يشكلان أول معاهدتين دوليتين شاملتين ومُلزمتين قانونا في ميدان حقوق الإنسان، ويؤلفان مع الإعلان العالمي لحقوق الإنسان لب الشرعة الدولية لحقوق الإنسان؛ وقد حظي العهدان الخاصان بقبول واسع النطاق من المجتمع الدولي.
