عملا بطلب أعضاء مجلس الأمن في المشاورات الجامعة التي عقدت في 28 تموز/يوليه 2006 يحيل الأمين العام طيا الإحاطة التي قدمها في نفس اليوم إلى أعضاء المجلس السيد يان إيغلاند وكيل الأمين العام للشؤون الإنسانية ومنسق الإغاثة في حالات الطوارئ بشأن الحالة الإنسانية في الشرق الأوسط.
