encourages the Executive Director to continue the excellent cooperation between the United Nations Environment Programme and other participating organizations of the Inter-Organization Programme for the Sound Management of Chemicals;

4. urges the Executive Director to consult multilateral environmental conventions, through their secretariats, with a view to identifying areas of common interest and opportunities for synergy in line with the decisions taken under those conventions;

urges the Executive Director to strengthen the United Nations Environment Programme coordination mechanism and structure for South-South cooperation, including its regional presence, with a view to enhancing its role and function;

4. urges the Executive Director to align the gender policy and plan of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme with the system-wide action plan on gender equality and women's empowerment;
4- يحث المدير التنفيذي على مواءمة سياسات وخطة برنامج الأمم المتحدة للمستوطنات البشرية في الشؤون الجنسانية مع خطة العمل على نطاق المنظومة بشأن المساواة بين الجنسين وتمكين المرأة؛

2. urges the Executive Director to complete work on state-of-the-environment assessments in time for the seventh session of the Commission on Sustainable Development and the special session of the United Nations General Assembly on the review of the Barbados Programme of Action.
٢ - يحث المدير التنفيذي على إكمال العمل بشأن تقييمات حالة البيئة في وقت مناسب للدورة السابعة للجنة المعنية بالتنمية المستدامة والدورة الاستثنائية للجمعية العامة لﻷمم المتحدة للنظر في برنامج عمل بربادوس.

1. urges the Executive Director, within available resources, to continue programmatic activities in support of the Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Vienna Convention and the Montreal Protocol, in particular to encourage the enhancement of synergies between these instruments;
1 - يحث المدير التنفيذي على أن يقوم، من داخل الموارد المتاحة، بمواصلة هذه الأنشطة البرنامجية دعماً لاتفاقية الأمم المتحدة الإطارية بشأن تغير المناخ وإتفاقية فيينا وبروتوكول مونتريال، وعلى أن يشجع بشكل خاص استغلال التداعم بين هذه الصكوك؛

2. urges the Executive Director, within available resources, to continue these activities and, in particular, to encourage the exploitation of synergies between, on the one hand, the Framework Convention on Climate Change and, on the other, the Vienna Convention and the Montreal Protocol;
