In view of the increase in the workload of the Court, my delegation believes that there is an urgent need to strengthen the Court's capacity to efficiently dispose of the cases before it and to undertake the additional administrative responsibilities arising therefrom.

Faced with this truly alarming situation, my delegation believes that we must devise a plan to reform the system for the maintenance of international peace and security, focusing specifically on strengthening our capacity for collective action and the credibility of the Security Council.

In this regard, my delegation believes that, rather than passing on merely duplicative texts, efforts should be made to convey the proceedings of the informal consultations in a more substantial fashion.
وفي هذا الصدد، يعتقد وفدي أنه بدلا من مجرد ترديد نصوص مكررة، ينبغي بذل جهد لنقل المداولات التي جرت في المشاورات غير الرسمية بطريقة أغزر.

With regard to anti-personnel mines, if indeed we want to rid the world of these devices that arbitrarily sow death and desolation, my delegation believes that we must continue to mobilize our efforts to implement and universalize the Ottawa Convention.
وفيما يتعلق بالألغام المضادة للأفراد، إذا كنا نريد حقاً تخليص العالم من هذه الأجهزة التي تزرع الموت والخراب بصورة تعسفية، يعتقد وفدي أنه يجب علينا مواصلة تعبئة جهودنا لتنفيذ اتفاقية أوتاوا وتعميمها.

In particular, my delegation believes that it is necessary to have in place an entity responsible for coordination among the various organizations and institutions that collaborate in the fight against terrorism in the United Nations system.

Regarding the methods of work, my delegation believes that it is always useful to any body to review its methods of work, because, as the representative of India said, there is always room for improvement.
وفيما يتعلق بأساليب العمل، يعتقد وفدي أنه من المفيد دائما أن تراجع أي هيئة أسلوب عملها لأنه، كما قال ممثل الهند، يوجد دائما مجال للمزيد من التحسين.

With regard to the Enterprise, as the organ of the Authority which shall carry out activities in the Area as well as the transporting, processing and marketing of minerals recovered from the Area, my delegation believes that unless the Enterprise is granted favourable conditions for its proper and effective functioning, it will be unable to fulfil its intended role.

my delegation believes that the Committee should give a clear signal as to the need to develop a legal and institutional framework for both outer space and the geostationary orbit, in which the principles and norms governing the subjects before us should be coordinated with international law as a whole.
يعتقد وفدي أنه ينبغي أن تصدر عن اللجنة اشارة واضحة عن الحاجة الى تطوير إطار قانوني ومؤسسي لكل من الفضاء الخارجي والمدار الثابت بالنسبة لﻷرض، إطار ينبغي فيه تنسيق المبادئ والمعايير المنظمة للمواضيع المطروحة علينا مع القانون الدولي ككل.

Hence, my delegation believes that, beyond the question of respect for the sovereignty and integrity of States and the responsibility of every country to guarantee security within its borders, the international community must further strengthen cooperation at all levels and reaffirm its determination to combat this scourge by adopting practical, effective measures to spare our societies from these odious acts.
ولهذا السبب، يعتقد وفدي أنه يتعين على المجتمع الدولي، فيما يتجاوز مسألة احترام سيادة الدول وسلامتها ومسؤولية كل بلد عن ضمان اﻷمن داخــل حدوده، أن يعزز تعاونه على جميع المستويات وأن يؤكد تصميمه على مكافحة هذه اﻵفة باتخاذ تدابير عملية فعالة لحماية مجتمعاتنا من هذه اﻷعمــال المقيتة.
