1. The present report is submitted pursuant to General Assembly resolution 56/262 of 15 February 2002, by which the Assembly requested the Secretary-General to submit to it at its fifty-eighth session a comprehensive report on the implementation of its resolutions on multilingualism.

In its resolution 2000/54, the Commission requested the Secretary-General to submit to it at its fifty-eighth session a comprehensive follow-up report on the problem of violence against women migrant workers, taking into account the views of States and based on all available information from authorities and bodies within the United Nations system, intergovernmental organizations and other sources, including non-governmental organizations.
