The Council heard a statement by H.E. Mr. Yusuf Hassan Ibrahim, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Transitional Federal Government of Somalia.

The Council was also briefed by the Commissioner for Peace and Security of the African Union, Ambassador Ramtane Lamamra, and heard statements by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Transitional Federal Government of Somalia, Yusuf Hassan Ibrahim.

On 11 March, the Council held a meeting with Yusuf Hassan Ibrahim, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Transitional National Government of Somalia, followed by a meeting open to all Member States regarding the peace process in Somalia.
وفي 11 آذار/مارس عقد المجلس اجتماعا مع يوسف حسن إبراهيم، وزير الخارجية في الحكومة الوطنية في الصومال أعقبه جلسة مفتوحة لجميع الدول الأعضاء بشأن عملية السلام في الصومال.

" Pursuant to the decision taken at the 6407th meeting, the President recognized the presence of Mr. Yusuf Hassan Ibrahim, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Somalia, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Charter of the United Nations and rule 37 of the provisional rules of procedure of the Council.

" The President, with the consent of the Council, invited Yusuf Hassan Ibrahim, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Transitional National Government of Somalia, at his request, to participate in the discussion of the item without the right to vote, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Charter and rule 37 of the Council's provisional rules of procedure.
" ووجه الرئيس الدعوة، بموافقة المجلس، إلى يوسف حسن ابراهيم وزير خارجية حكومة الصومال الوطنية الانتقالية، بناء على طلبه، للاشتراك في مناقشة البند دون أن يكون له الحق في التصويت، وذلك عملا بالأحكام ذات الصلة من ميثاق الأمم المتحدة والمادة 37 من النظام الداخلي المؤقت للمجلس.
