2. On 20 July 2007, the Secretary-General informed the General Assembly (see A/61/101/Add.1) of a vacancy in the membership of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions as a result of the resignation of Jun Yamazaki (Japan), and of the nomination by the Government of Japan of Masako Kaji (Japan) to fill the remainder of the term of office of Mr. Yamazaki, which would expire on 31 December 2007.
