Here, I should like to mention that it was inhuman conditions of imprisonment like these that led to the death, in 2005, of Syrian prisoner Hayil Abu Zayd.
وإنني أود أن أذكر هنا أن مثل هذه الظروف من الاعتقال اللاإنساني أدت إلى وفاة الأسير السوري هايل أبو زيد عام 2005.

It provides information testifying to the fact that the martyr Hayil Abu Zeid died of cancer while in Israeli detention.
وأوضح البيان أن الإهمال الطبي من قبل إسرائيل هو الذي أودى بحياة الأسير الشهيد هايل أبو زيد بعد إصابته بمرض السرطان داخل المعتقلات الإسرائيلية.

In that regard, we would like to remind you of the similarly inhumane detainment that led to the death of Syrian prisoner Hayil Abu Zayd just one month after his release from prison in 2005. His release had been secured at that time thanks to the efforts of the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
ونذكّر، في هذا الصدد، بظــروف الاعتقال اللاإنسانية المماثلــة التــي كانت قد أدت إلى وفاة الأسير السوري، هايل أبو زيد، عام 2005 بعد خروجه من السجن بشهر واحد فقط بفضل المساعي المبذولة من الأمم المتحدة واللجنة الدولية للصليب الأحمر آنذاك.

The names of those sentenced to long terms in prison on charges of resistance to the occupation, together with the sentence being served, are as follows: Sidqi Sulayman al-Maqat (27 years); Hayil Husayn Abu Zayda (27 years); Bashir Sulayman al-Maqat (17 years); Saytan Nimr al-Wali (27 years); Asim Mahmud al-Wali (27 years); Ziyad Arif Abu Jabal (12 years); Faris Hayil al-Sha`ir (8 years); and Bassam Sulayman Khatir (8 years).
