The process of establishing such zones, in appropriate parts of the world, should be encouraged to promote non-proliferation and to contribute to the attainment of the ultimate objective of achieving a world entirely free of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction.
وينبغي تشجيع إقامة هذه المناطق، في أجزاء مناسبة من العالم وذلك من أجل تشجيع عدم الانتشار واﻹسهام في تحقيق الهدف النهائي المتمثل في إقامة عالم خال تماما من اﻷسلحة النووية وغيرها من أسلحة التدمير الشامل.

8.1 [The Conference considers that the establishment of nuclear-weapon-free zones on the basis of arrangements freely arrived at among States of the region concerned constitutes an important disarmament measure and therefore the process of establishing such zones in different parts of the world should be encouraged with the ultimate objective of achieving a world entirely free of nuclear weapons.
