By its resolution 1236 (1999) of 7 May 1999, the Security Council, taking note of the report of the Secretary-General on the question of East Timor (A/53/951-S/1999/513), welcomed the concluding of the Agreement between Indonesia and Portugal and the concluding of the agreements between the United Nations and the Governments of Indonesia and Portugal.
