The Commission on Human Rights in its pertinent resolutions (most recently, 1997/57) requested the Secretary-General, from within existing resources, to make all necessary resources available for the Special Rapporteur to carry out her mandate successfully and, in particular, to provide her with adequate staff in the field to ensure effective continuous monitoring and coordination with other international organizations involved.
