81. Addressing issues surrounding water and climate change impacts in the context of the UNFCCC process is a useful step for their inclusion into policy considerations.

This report provides a summary of the technical workshop on water and climate change impacts and adaptation strategies organized under the Nairobi work programme on impacts, vulnerability and adaptation to climate change.

In 1995, a gathering of world specialists on carbon sinks was assembled by UNEP in Nairobi to discuss and define the links between desertification, drylands and climate change with a focus on carbon sequestration and climate change impacts.
