It is also a particular pleasure to address you today under the distinguished presidency of Mr. Jean Ping, Minister of State, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and la Francophonie of Gabon, and the tenth African President of the Assembly.

The meeting identified approaches and examined proposals for joint action between the United Nations and la Francophonie in the field of conflict prevention.
كما مكن الاجتماع من وضع محاور واقتراحات العمل المنسق بين اﻷمم المتحدة والمنظمة الدولية للجماعة الفرانكوفونية في مجال منع المنازعات.

That is only one example of the plethora of opportunities for cooperation between the United Nations and la Francophonie.
وما ذلك إلا مثال واحد من حشد هائل من الفرص المتاحــة للتعــاون بيــن اﻷمــم المتحدة والجماعة الفرنكوفونية.

The inaugural speech was delivered by H.E. Mr. Miguel Abia Biteo, Prime Minister of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, and the closing speech was delivered by H.E. Mr. Jose Esono Micha Akeng, Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and la Francophonie of Equatorial Guinea.
وألقى كلمــة الافتتــاح سعــادة السيـــد ميغيـــل آبيــا بيتيو، رئيـــس وزراء جمهورية غينيا الاستوائية، فيما ألقى كلمة الاختتام سعادة السيد خوسيه إيزونو ميشا آكنغ، نائب وزير الشؤون الخارجية والتعاون الدولي والفرانكفونية.

Such cooperation mostly takes the form of regular contacts on issues that are being actively followed by the United Nations and la Francophonie, with exchanges of information and analyses and working meetings both between senior officials of the two organizations and at the expert level.
ويتخذ التعاون بصفة خاصة شكل اتصالات منتظمة بشأن قضايا تتولى اﻷمم المتحدة والمنظمة الدولية للجماعة الفرانكوفونية متابعتها بنشاط، عن طريق تبادل المعلومات والتحليلات وعقد اجتماعات عمل بين كبار المسؤولين في المنظمتين وعلى مستوى الخبراء على حد سواء.

All of these activities and shared projects demonstrate the wealth of contacts between UNESCO and la Francophonie.
