892. The Committee recalls the State party's obligations under articles 2 and 30 of the Convention and recommends that it ensure the full enjoyment, by indigenous and minority children, of all of their human rights equally and without discrimination.

Following the comprehensive dialogue between UNICEF and the Permanent Forum and the resulting recommendation that UNICEF prepare a report on the state of the world's children with a thematic focus on indigenous children, UNICEF has developed a frame of reference that will guide the development of a global analysis on the situation of indigenous and minority children.

In 2006, CRC also recommended that Thailand continue efforts to provide indigenous and minority children with equal access to quality education, which respects their distinct cultural patterns and uses local indigenous and minority languages; and expand the availability and improve the quality of vocational training.

In this regard, the Committee urges the State party to take adequate measures to protect the rights of indigenous and minority children to preserve their historical and cultural identity, customs, traditions and languages, taking into account the recommendations adopted by the Committee on its day of general discussion on the rights of indigenous children in September 2003.
