(20) The Committee expresses its concern with regard to the Roma and Romani/Tater communities and in particular their access to public places, housing, employment and the measures taken to integrate children from Roma communities, especially from travelling families, into the educational system in accordance with their way of living (arts. 2, 5 and 6).

CERD recommended that Norway take active measures to prevent discrimination against the Roma and Romani/Tater communities, particularly with regard to their access to public places, housing and employment, and allocate additional resources to find appropriate solutions for integrating children from Roma and Romani communities into the educational system.
68- وأوصت لجنة القضاء على التمييز العنصري النرويج باتخاذ تدابير فعّالة لمنع التمييز ضد جماعات الروما والروماني/التتر، لا سيما في ما يخص قدرتهم على الوصول إلى الأماكن العامة والسكن والعمل، وبتخصيص موارد إضافية بغية إيجاد حلول ملائمة لدمج أطفال جماعات الروما والروماني في نظام التعليم(112).

Discriminatory attitudes from the police must also be effectively and appropriately sanctioned; and (c) ensure that the policies and programmes intended to improve the situation of Roma and Romani/Taters were implemented effectively in close consultation with the persons concerned.

The CoE-AC recommended that Norway (a) emphasise in its police training the specificity of the traditional lifestyle of the Roma and Romani/Taters communities as an essential component of their cultural identity and promote the recruitment of persons with a Roma background into the police force; and (b) ensure that Roma and Romani/Taters are not denied access to commercial camping sites on arbitrary grounds.

64. CoE-AC recommended that Norway: (a) continue and to intensify the measures taken to remedy the difficulties encountered by Roma and Romani/Taters children in the education system; and (b) find solutions suited to the particular lifestyle of Roma and Romani/Taters children in order to grant them equality in access to quality education while preserving their culture.

46. Meeting the educational needs of Roma and Romani/Traveller (Tater) pupils is a major challenge, especially during travel periods.
46- تعد تلبية احتياجات التلاميذ الروما والغجر/الرحّل (التاتر) من التعليم تحدياً كبيراً، لا سيما أثناء فترات الترحال.

In addition, in 2002 the Parliamentary Ombudsman started meetings with different NGOs such as representatives of central human rights organizations, child welfare organizations, the refugee organizations of the Finnish Red Cross as well as organizations of the disabled and Romani organizations.
