The attention of the Commission is also drawn to General Assembly resolutions 53/131, entitled “International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination”, and 53/132 entitled “Third Decade to Combat Racism and Racial Discrimination and the convening of the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance”.

Eliminate all forms of discrimination, including racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance, and in this context, support the implementation of the United Nations International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination and the convening of the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance, to be held in South Africa in 2001;

At the 37th meeting, on 26 October, the representative of Nigeria, on behalf of the States Members of the United Nations that are members of the Group of 77 and China, introduced a draft resolution entitled " Third Decade to Combat Racism and Racial Discrimination and the convening of the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance " (A/C.3/55/L.27), which read:
