52. In order to reintegrate rescued workers, in December 2005 the Ministry of Labour and Employment (MTE) and the Ministry of Social Development and Hunger Alleviation (MDS) signed a cooperation agreement giving them priority access to the Family Grant Programme.

In order to improve the living conditions of street children and adolescents and ensure that their rights are respected, the Comprehensive Programme of Support for Street Children was established and is implemented jointly by the Child and Adolescent Institute of Uruguay and the Ministry of Social Development.

39. In the same context of domestic violence, a cooperation agreement was signed between the PSD and the Ministry of Social Development to provide social and economic support to victims of domestic violence, as well as providing social services to children who are in conflict with the law through establishing social services offices in several police stations.

With regard to networks established for the protection of students, in October 2008, the Adolescent Pregnancy Protection Board was established, bringing together SERNAM, the National School Support and Scholarships Board (JUNAEB), the National Kindergartens Board (JUNJI), the subsecretariats of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Social Development.
