The Sierra Leone configuration of the Peacebuilding Commission welcomes the progress made by the Government and the people of Sierra Leone in the consolidation of peace and stability in their country.
ترحب تشكيلة سيراليون التابعة للجنة بناء السلام بالتقدم الذي أحرزته حكومة وشعب سيراليون في مجال توطيد السلام والاستقرار في بلدهم.

The main objectives of the mission were to assess the progress achieved by the national authorities and the people of Sierra Leone in the peacebuilding process, and to become acquainted with the preparations for the 2012 elections.
وكان أهم الأهداف الرئيسية للبعثة هو تقييم التقدم الذي أحرزته السلطات الوطنية وشعب سيراليون في عملية بناء السلام، وكذلك الوقوف على الأعمال التحضيرية لانتخابات عام 2012.

The Peacebuilding Commission has engaged in advocacy and resource mobilization efforts to support the Government and the people of Sierra Leone

I should also like to extend the best wishes of the Government and the people of Sierra Leone to the friendly Governments and peoples of those countries that have joined us in this Assembly as full Member States.

2. Support the efforts of the Government and the people of Sierra Leone for peace consolidation consistent with the present Framework

The Government and the people of Sierra Leone know from experience that ceasefire, disarmament, demobilization and reintegration are essential components of peace.

Thus, the international community should respect the independent choice of the Government and the people of Sierra Leone by ensuring that its well-intentioned assistance efforts were consonant with the actual long-term needs of the people and focused on helping them achieve self-development.
وهكذا ينبغي للمجتمع الدولي أن يحترم الاختيارات المستقلة لحكومة وشعب سيراليون وذلك بأن يتأكد من أن جهود المساعدة المبذولة بنية طيبة تتفق مع الاحتياجات التالية الطويلة الأجل للشعب وأنها تتركز على مساعدة الشعب لتحقيق التنمية الذاتية.

(b) Support the efforts of the Government and the people of Sierra Leone for peace consolidation consistent with the present Framework;

56. As I emphasized during my visit to Sierra Leone from 4 to 6 March, I thank the Government and the people of Sierra Leone for hosting UNIPSIL and its preceding United Nations operations for over 15 years and for all the support and cooperation provided to the United Nations in the country.
56 - وعلى نحو ما أكدته خلال زيارتي لسيراليون في الفترة من 4 إلى 6 آذار/مارس، أشكر حكومة وشعب سيراليون على استضافة مكتب بناء السلام وعمليات الأمم المتحدة التي سبقته على مدى أكثر من 15 عاما وعلى كل ما قُدم للأمم المتحدة من دعم ومساعدة في هذا البلد.

The Peacebuilding Commission stands ready to continue to provide its support to the Government and the people of Sierra Leone as Sierra Leone prepares for its landmark elections and in their arduous task of building a democratic and prosperous nation.
وتقف لجنة بناء السلام على أهبة الاستعداد لمواصلة تقديم الدعم إلى حكومة وشعب سيراليون في الوقت الذي تستعد فيه سيراليون لخوض الانتخابات التاريخية فيها، ولمساعدتهما في أداء المهمة الشاقة المتمثلة في بناء بلد ديمقراطي ومزدهر.

(b) Mutual accountability: sustainable peacebuilding requires a strong partnership on the basis of mutual respect and accountability between the Government and the people of Sierra Leone and their international partners;
(ب) المساءلة المتبادلة: يتطلب بناء السلام المستدام شراكة قوية تقوم على الاحترام والمساءلة المتبادلين بين حكومة وشعب سيراليون وشركائهما الدوليين؛

To that end, in addition to monitoring, investigation and reporting, the human rights interventions of the international community in Sierra Leone at this stage must emphasize capacity-building and the transfer of responsibility for human rights promotion and protection to the Government and the people of Sierra Leone.
وتحقيقا لهذه الغاية، فإضافة إلى المراقبة والتحقيق والإبلاغ، يجب أن تركز الأنشطة التي يقوم بها المجتمع الدولي في هذه المرحلة في مجال حقوق الإنسان في سيراليون على بناء القدرات ونقل المسؤولية عن تعزيز حقوق الإنسان وحمايتها إلى حكومة سيراليون وشعبها.

The Government and the people of Sierra Leone are particularly grateful for the support provided by the World Bank, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, UNAIDS and all our development partners, including the United Nations agencies.
