In addition to diagnostic activities, a number of other measures for the evaluation of natural resource degradation were highlighted, including the national networks of long-term environmental monitoring observatories launched at the initiative of the Sahara and Sahel Observatory, NAP monitoring and evaluation systems and thematic studies.
