In paragraph 1 of its resolution 31/204 of 22 December 1976, the General Assembly decided that the annual salaries of members of ICJ should normally be reviewed every five years.

12. Based on the above information, the Secretary-General would conclude that the pension benefits in many national and international judiciaries are established by direct reference to annual salaries in that profession rather than by general reference to civil service emoluments.
١٢ - وعلى أساس المعلومات الموضحة أعلاه، يستنتج اﻷمين العام أن استحقاقات المعاش التقاعدي تتحدد في الكثير من الهيئات القضائية الوطنية والدولية بالرجوع المباشر إلى اﻷجور السنوية المطبقة في هذه المهنة، وليس بالرجوع إلى اﻷجور المعمول بها في نطاق الخدمة المدنية عموما.
