In order to become acquainted with the situation first-hand, the head of the temporary United Nations office at Baku, Mr. Mahmoud El-Said, paid a visit to the Fizuli, Zangelan, Barda, Agdam, Tauz and Kazakh districts of Azerbaijan on 12 and 13 August.
وفي يومي ٢١ و٣١ آب/اغسطس، قام السيد محمود السعيد مدير مكتب اﻷمم المتحدة المؤقت في باكو بجولة في مراكز فيضولي، وزانغيلان، وباردا، وأغدام، وتاوز، وكازاخ اﻷذربيجانية، بغرض التعرف على الحالة على الطبيعة.

We have the honour to transmit herewith the text of the Baku Declaration adopted at the International Conference on Restoration of the Historic Silk Route, held at Baku, on 7 and 8 September 1998 (see annex).

Having gathered at the thirty-second session of the Subcommission, held at Baku from 17 to 21 February 1997, to consider the Baku Accord on Regional Cooperation against Illicit Cultivation, Production, Trafficking, Distribution and Consumption of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances and Their Precursors,
وقد اجتمعنا إبان الدورة الثانية والثلاثين للجنة الفرعية، المعقودة في باكو من ١٧ إلى ٢١ شباط/فبراير ١٩٩٧، للنظر في اتفاق باكو بشأن التعاون اﻹقليمي على مكافحة زراعة المخدرات والمؤثرات العقلية وسلائفها وإنتاجها والاتجار بها وتوزيعها واستهلاكها على نحو غير مشروع،

(a) The thirty-second session of the Subcommission on Illicit Drug Traffic and Related Matters in the Near and Middle East, to be held at Baku from 17 to 21 February 1997;

75. The International Caucasus Foundation on Minority Issues held a follow-up seminar under the title " Intolerance in the Caucasus: follow-up to the Durban Conference " for youth representatives from Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia at Baku, in the third quarter of 2002.
75 - وعقدت مؤسسة القوقاز الدولية لقضايا الأقليات حلقة دراسية للمتابعة كان عنوانها " التعصب في القوقاز: متابعة مؤتمر ديربان " لممثلي الشباب في جورجيا، وأذربيجان، وأرمينيا، في الربع الثالث من عام 2002 في باكو.

41. In addressing the second issue, the Secretary-General of the League of Nations pointed out in his Memorandum that the mandate of the Azerbaijani delegation attending the Paris Peace Conference derived from the government that had been in power at Baku until April 1920.
41 - وعند تناول المسألة الثانية، أشار الأمين العام لعصبة الأمم في مذكرته إلى أن ولاية الوفد الأذربيجاني الذي حضر مؤتمر باريس للسلام مستمدة من الحكومة التي كانت بيدها السلطة في باكو حتى نيسان/أبريل 1920.

The memorandum signed at the first meeting of the Forum at Baku highlighted major elements of cooperation between the participating States: increasing women's participation in all spheres of socio-economic and political life, joint efforts by women in preventing conflicts and in post-conflict reconstruction, and fighting against violence and against trafficking in persons.
وأضافت قائلةً إن المذكرة الموقعة في الاجتماع الأول للمحفل في باكو تشير إلى الأهداف الرئيسية للتعاون بين الدول المشتركة، وهي زيادة إشراك المرأة في جميع مجالات الحياة الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والسياسية، والعمل على تضافر الجهود لمنع المنازعات وإعادة التعمير بعد المنازعات، ومكافحة العنف والاتجار بالأشخاص.

Welcomes the holding, at Baku in September 1998, of a joint Economic Cooperation Organization and United Nations Population Fund conference on the role of men in reproductive health and family planning, and calls upon the Fund and other relevant United Nations organizations, in cooperation with the Economic Cooperation Organization, to continue activities in the field of public health and social development in the future;

وعقدت اللجنة الفرعية المعنية بالاتجار غير المشروع بالعقاقير والمسائل ذات الصلة في الشرقين اﻷدنى واﻷوسط دورتها الثانية والثلاثين في باكو ، من ١٧ إلى ٢١ آذار/مارس ١٩٩٧ ، حيث اعتمد اتفاق باكو بشأن التعاون اﻹقليمي لمكافحة زراعة العقاقير المخدرة والمؤثرات العقلية وسلائفها وإنتاجها والاتجار بها واستهلاكها على نحو غير مشروع .

Letter dated 9 August (S/2006/650) from the representative of Azerbaijan addressed to the Secretary-General, transmitting, in his capacity as Chairman of the Organization of the Islamic Conference Group at the United Nations, the final communiqué, the Baku Declaration and the resolutions adopted by the Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers at its thirty-third session, held at Baku from 19 to 21 June 2006.

(d) Implementation of recommendations adopted at the thirty-first session of the Subcommission on Illicit Drug Traffic and Related Matters in the Near and Middle East, held at Amman from 9 to 13 March l996, will be reviewed at the thirty-third session; recommendations adopted at the thirty-second session to be held at Baku from 17 to 21 February 1997, will be reviewed at the thirty-fourth session.
