12. In order to simplify the mechanism for operating the Revolving Credit Fund, it is proposed that the authorized retained surpluses referred to above, as well as any others that the General Assembly may from time to time authorize, be consolidated in a new single retained surpluses account.
١٢ - وبغية تبسيط آلية تشغيل صندوق الائتمان الدائر، يُقترح أن يجري وضع الفوائض المأذون بالاحتفاظ بها المشار إليها أعلاه، وغيرها من الفوائض التي قد تأذن بها الجمعية العامة من وقت ﻵخر، في حساب موحد جديد للفوائض المحتفظ بها.

13. It is proposed that, consistent with current practice for the regular budget, the shares of Member States as regards authorized retained surpluses should be allocated by applying the current regular budget and peacekeeping scales to the currently retained surpluses.

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) (statement VI) had authorized retained surpluses totalling $82.9 million, including $19.6 million transferred to a special account in accordance with General Assembly resolution 36/116 A. Total expenditures for the 12-month period from 1 July 1999 to 30 June 2000 amounted to $149.6 million, compared with $134.7 million for the previous 12-month period.
