8. The European Union thanked the Secretary-General for his work to reduce the backlog in the publication of the Repertory of Practice of United Nations Organs and the Repertoire of the Practice of the Security Council, which it considered to be of great importance in relation to the implementation of the Charter of the United Nations and the activities undertaken by the organs of the Organization.

The establishment of a Sixth Committee Working Group was helpful. His delegation hailed the tireless efforts of the Secretary-General to reduce the backlog in the publication of the Repertory of Practice of United Nations Organs and the Repertoire of the Practice of the Security Council.

Lastly, he welcomed the agreement reached on the draft resolution submitted by Sierra Leone and the United Kingdom entitled " Prevention and peaceful settlement of disputes " .
