(a) Ensure effective supervision and independent monitoring by judicial organs of any involuntary hospitalization in psychiatric institutions of persons with mental and psychosocial disabilities; and ensure that every patient, whether voluntarily or involuntarily hospitalized, is fully informed about the treatment to be prescribed and given the opportunity to refuse treatment or any other medical intervention;
(أ) تضمن إشراف الأجهزة القضائية الفعال ورصدها المستقل لإدخال أي شخص ذي إعاقة عقلية ونفسية اجتماعية دون موافقته إلى مؤسسات الطب النفسي؛ وتضمن تلقي أي مريض، سواء أُدخل المستشفى طواعية أو بشكل غير طواعي، معلومات كاملة عن العلاج الذي سيُوصف له ويُعطى فرصة رفض العلاج أو أي تدخل طبي آخر؛

The State party should ensure that every competent patient, whether voluntary or involuntary, is fully informed about the treatment to be prescribed and given the opportunity to refuse treatment or any other medical intervention.
