30. Some treaty body monitoring mechanisms have applied existing provisions to protect the rights of older persons, notably the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women, by providing interpretative guidance on existing norms.

Building on the previous year's text, the draft resolution encouraged treaty body monitoring mechanisms and special procedure mandate holders to pay more attention to the situation of older persons so as to strengthen the promotion and protection of their human rights.
ويشجع مشروع القرار، الذي استندت صياغته إلى نص السنة السابقة، آليات الرصد التابعة لهيئات المعاهدات وأصحاب ولايات الإجراءات الخاصة على إيلاء مزيد من الاهتمام لحالة كبار السن، بغرض دعم تعزيز حقوق الإنسان الخاصة بهم وحمايتها.
