The State party should consider implementing the recommendations made by the Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance following his visit to Switzerland in 2006, as well as the relevant recommendations made by the working group on the universal periodic review in 2008.

The Committee began its joint consideration of the sub-items and heard an introductory statement by the Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance, who responded to questions and comments made by the representatives of the European Union and Nigeria.

The following paragraphs are devoted to the implementation of and follow-up to the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action by the Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance.

The Committee resumed its consideration of the item and heard a statement by the Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and other related forms of intolerance.

45. One of the information papers prepared for the open—ended working group (see para. 4 above) contains the recommendations made by the Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism.

The Working Group was enlightened by the information provided by the Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance on the impact of slavery and the slave trade on the societies where they took place, the issue of reparation, and the contributions of people of African descent to their own liberation and to the development of their countries.
6- واستبصر الفريق العامل بالمعلومات التي قدمها المقرر الخاص المعني بالأشكال المعاصرة للعنصرية والتمييز العنصري وكره الأجانب والتعصب المتصل بذلك بشأن أثر الرق وتجارة الرقيق على المجتمعات التي وقع فيها ذلك، وقضية التعويض، وإسهام السكان المنحدرين من أصل أفريقي في تحرير أنفسهم وتنمية بلدانهم.

24. In light of the recommendations made by the Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance, following his mission to Singapore in April 2010 (A/65/295, para. 76), please indicate the measures taken to protect the right of employment of women belonging to ethnic minority groups.
24 - وعلى ضوء التوصيات التي قدمها المقرر الخاص المعني بالأشكال المعاصرة للعنصرية والتمييز العنصري وكره الأجانب وما يتصل بذلك من تعصب، بعد المهمة التي قام بها في سنغافورة في نيسان/أبريل 2010 (A/65/295، الفقرة 76)، يُرجى بيان التدابير المتخذة لحماية حق العمل الواجب للنساء المنتميات للأقليات العرقية.
