In the joint written contribution, the Special Rapporteur provided responses to six questions relating to the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action adopted in 2001 by the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance.

As recognized by the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance in 2001, people of African descent living in the diaspora had for centuries been subject to racism, racial discrimination and enslavement.
ذلك أن المنحدرين من أصل أفريقي الذين يعيشون في الشتات قد تعرضوا على مرّ القرون للعنصرية والتمييز العنصري والاسترقاق، كما أقرّ بذلك المؤتمر العالمي لمناهضة العنصرية والتمييز العنصري وكراهية الأجانب وما يتصل بذلك من تعصب في عام 2001.

(23) The Committee recommends that the State party take into account the relevant parts of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action, adopted in September 2001 by the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance, when implementing the Convention in its domestic legal order, particularly as regards articles 2 to 7 of the Convention.
