At the 12th meeting, on 11 June, statements were made by representatives of two Parties and the Executive Secretary, paying tribute to the work of the Chairman of the SBSTA, whose two-year term in that position was now coming to an end.

ويكون من المرغوب فيه في هذا الصدد أن يُطلَب إلى رئيس هذه الهيئة الفرعية أن يقدم تقريراً شفوياً إلى الجلسات العامة لمؤتمر اﻷطراف عن التقدم الموضوعي الذي حققته هذه الهيئة الفرعية في دورتها الثالثة بغية تجنب تكريس الوقت النادر المتاح لهذه الهيئة الفرعية لاعتماد تقرير رسمي كامل.
