It is undisputed that the authors have suffered sex-based discrimination by bearing their fathers' family names in their civil status documents, and that that discrimination was based on discriminatory and sexist customary rules on transmission of family names which were in force at the time of their births.

5.4 With regard to the State party's allegation that the authors did not substantiate their claim of sex-based discrimination by bearing their fathers' family names, the authors reiterate that they have had to bear their fathers' family names reflected in their civil status documents based on discriminatory and sexist customary rules in force at the time of their birth.

28. UNMIK continues to deal with international legal assistance requests to and from countries that have not recognized Kosovo and to play a role in facilitating contacts with INTERPOL, on the one hand, and EULEX and the local authorities, on the other. UNMIK also carries out the certification of civil status documents for the purposes of countries that have not recognized Kosovo.
28 - وتواصل بعثة الأمم المتحدة التعامل مع طلبات المساعدة القانونية الدولية من وإلى الدول التي لم تعترف بكوسوفو، والقيام بدور في تيسير الاتصالات بالمنظمة الدولية للشرطة الجنائية (الإنتربول)، من جهة، وبعثة الاتحاد الأوروبي والسلطات المحلية من جهة ثانية وتقوم بعثة الأمم المتحدة أيضا بالتصديق على وثائق الحالة المدنية اللازمة للتعامل مع البلدان التي لم تعترف بكوسوفو.

Marriage may be dissolved by the court or by the officer for the registration of civil status documents in the case of mutual consent of spouses who have no minor children; the same applies to marriage with missing persons, incapable persons or persons sentenced to deprivation of liberty for a term of not less than three years (arts. 39, 45 and 46).
