It is essential that the international community, recognizing that armed conflict endangers the lives of civilians, take steps to ensure that all efforts are made to enhance respect for international humanitarian law defined for the protection of Civilians in Time of War so that civilians can live as normal a life as possible, and in accordance with their laws, their cultures and their traditions.
وإذ يدرك المجتمع الدولي أن الصراع المسلح يعرض حياة المدنيين للخطر، لا بد له من أن يتخذ تدابير لضمان بذل كل الجهود لزيادة احترام القانون الإنساني الدولي المحدد لحماية المدنيين في وقت الحرب حتى يمكن للمدنيين أن يعيشوا حياة طبيعية قدر الإمكان، ووفقا لقوانينهم، وثقافاتهم وتقاليدهم.

We remind Israel that it has obligations and responsibilities under international law relative to the protection of Civilians in Time of War.
ونذكّر إسرائيل بأن عليها التزامات ومسؤوليات في إطار القانون الدولي فيما يتعلق بحماية المدنيين في زمن الحرب.

8. Calls upon the international community to shoulder its full responsibility in forcing Israel to abide by the principles of the Universal Declaration on Human Rights and of all international conventions on human rights, particularly the Geneva Convention of 20.8.1949 on the Protection of Civilians in Time of War, as well as the relevant Draft RESOLUTION NO.s adopted by the United Nations and its specialized agencies.

While Israel claims that they are being held because of their support for terrorist activities, it is difficult to resist the notion that they are being held as hostages, in violation of article 34 of the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilians in Time of War (Fourth Geneva Convention).

It has become all too familiar now to see blatant violations of the principles of human rights and international law, including the provisions of the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949 on the protection of Civilians in Time of War, still being perpetrated by the Israeli occupation authorities.

115. Protection needs to be accorded to the people of the occupied territories in strict compliance with the 1949 Geneva Convention Relative to the Protection of Civilians in Time of War (Fourth Geneva Convention).

Moreover, no conference intended to address the status of Civilians in Time of War can have any relevance whatsoever to the Israeli situation, in which 97 per cent of the Palestinians in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip are today under Palestinian rule.
ثم لا يمكن أن تكون ﻷي مؤتمر يقصد به التصدي ﻷوضاع المدنيين في زمن الحرب أي صلة على اﻹطلاق بالحالة في إسرائيل، حيث يعيش اليوم ٩٧ في المائة من الفلسطينيين في الضفة الغربية وقطاع غزة تحت حكم فلسطيني.

We reaffirm the need to compel Israel to comply immediately with the provisions of the Fourth Geneva Convention on the Protection of Civilians in Time of War which was adopted on 12 August 1949 and to apply those provisions to the Syrian detainees in the occupied Syrian Golan.
23 - نؤكد مجدداً ضرورة حمل إسرائيل على الامتثال فوراً لأحكام اتفاقية جنيف الرابعة الخاصة بحماية المدنيين في زمن الحرب المؤرخة في 12 آب/أغسطس 1949 وتطبيق تلك الأحكام على المعتقلين السوريين في الجولان السوري المحتل.

4. The pre-eminent legal instrument relevant to assessing the rights and duties of an occupying Power is the Fourth Geneva Convention Relative to the Protection of Civilians in Time of War (1949), but also relevant as expressive of the evolving customary international law, binding upon parties to the treaty, is the Geneva Protocol Additional I of 1977 Relating to the Protection of Victims to International Armed Conflict.
