The costs and benefits of globalization must be fairly and equally distributed. Lebanon also believes that the protection of our common environment presents a different kind of challenge. Careful strategies must be developed for water-resource management, combating desertification, respecting and preserving ecosystems and combating environmental pollution.
كما يرى لبنان أيضا في حماية البيئة المشتركة تحديا من نوع آخر، يستوجب وضع استراتيجيات مدروسة لإدارة المياه ومكافحة التصحر، واحترام مقومات الطبيعة لحفظها ومكافحة تلوثها، وفق أخلاقيات جديدة.

It also contributes to social and economic development and poverty eradication, protection of the common environment and protection of the vulnerable in all parts of the world.
كذلك تساهم هذه الاجراءات في التنمية الاجتماعية والاقتصادية والقضاء على الفقر وحماية البيئة المشتركة والمستضعفين في كافة أنحاء العالم.

In particular, the implementation of the recommendations of UNISPACE III to develop a comprehensive worldwide environmental monitoring strategy (recommendation 1) and to improve the management of the Earth's natural resources (recommendation 2) would directly support many of the actions called for in the Millennium Declaration (para. 23) to protect the common environment.
139- وعلى الخصوص، سوف يعزّز تنفيذ توصية اليونيسبيس الثالث بصوغ استراتيجية عالمية شاملة لرصد البيئة (التوصية 1) وتوصيته بتحسين إدارة الموارد الطبيعية للأرض (التوصية 2) الكثير من اجراءات العمل المطلوبة في إعلان الألفية (الفقرة 23) من أجل حماية البيئة المشتركة.
