The Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions has considered the Controller's letter of 7 December 1999, requesting the concurrence of the Committee to enter into commitments in an amount not exceeding $5,274,800 gross ($4,875,100 net) in connection with the cost of the liquidation of MONUA.

The Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions has considered the letter from the Controller of 25 September 2008 seeking the concurrence of the Committee to temporarily waive the ceiling of 125 workdays for retired language staff for the balance of the calendar year 2008 for New York Headquarters and to agree that the issue will be discussed further in the context of its consideration of human resources issues.

The Advisory Committee further recalls that after the adoption of the above-mentioned resolution, the Controller of the United Nations requested the concurrence of the Committee to enter into commitments in the amount of $50 million to meet the most immediate start-up costs of UNTAET, in accordance with the provisions of section IV of General Assembly resolution 49/233 A of 23 December 1994.
